Software components for data protection, secure storage and transfer

Is there Secure FTP support available?

There's a common confusion regarding the "Secure FTP" phrase. There exists no protocol called Secure FTP. There are several options that are often called Secure FTP:
  1. There exists SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) protocol, which is NOT FTP; this is a different protocol. I.e. you can't use FTP components to connect to SFTP server. SFTP works over SSH. SFTP client is available as SFTPBlackbox.
  2. Regular FTP can be run over SSL. This is called FTPS and is defined in the corresponding RFC documents. FTPS client is available as SSLBlackbox.
  3. It is possible to route standard FTP over SSH, but this scheme is complex and almost never used.
