- There exists SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) protocol, which is NOT FTP; this is a different protocol. I.e. you can't use FTP components to connect to SFTP server. SFTP works over SSH. SFTP client is available as SFTPBlackbox.
- Regular FTP can be run over SSL. This is called FTPS and is defined in the corresponding RFC documents. FTPS client is available as SSLBlackbox.
- It is possible to route standard FTP over SSH, but this scheme is complex and almost never used.
