Supported platforms

SecureBlackbox is available on many software and hardware platforms (some functions and components can be unsupported on certain platforms).

Windows®

If you develop software for Windows, you can use any of the offered SecureBlackbox editions (namely .NET, VCL, NG, C++ or Java edition) depending on what language and development tool you use. Versions of Windows supported include

  • Windows 10 / Win32 API (includes x86 and x64 platforms, i.e. 32-bit and 64-bit Windows systems)
  • Windows 2012 R2 Server
  • Windows 8.1 / Win32 API
  • Windows 8 RT (Formerly known as Metro, this .NET-based API is supported only by .NET edition of SecureBlackbox)
  • Windows 2012 Server
  • Windows 8 / Win32 API (includes x86 and x64 platforms, i.e. 32-bit and 64-bit Windows systems)
  • Windows 2008 R2 Server
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 2008 Server
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows 2003 Server
  • Windows XP

.NET Framework (Windows desktop and server systems)

.NET Framework 4.6, 4.5.1, 4.5, 4.0, 3.5, 2.0 and Universal Windows Platform are supported by the latest release version of SecureBlackbox (.NET edition).

Windows Embedded Compact and Windows CE systems

.NET Compact Framework 3.9, 3.5 and 2.0 are supported by .NET edition of SecureBlackbox X and later.

C++ edition can be used on Windows CE and Windows Embedded Compact in native C/C++ code.

Windows Phone

Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows Phone 8 are supported by SecureBlackbox X and later (.NET edition). Windows Phone 7.8 and Windows Phone 7.5 Mango are supported by SecureBlackbox 12, still available for download.

Silverlight

Silverlight 5 is supported by SecureBlackbox X and later (.NET edition). For Silverlight 4 you can use SecureBlackbox 12, still available for download.
SecureBlackbox can be used in both in-browser and out-of-browser Silverlight applications.

Java-based servers on various hardware and software platforms

With Java edition of SecureBlackbox you can add security functions to your applications running on Java runtime. This includes both Java applications and applications that are compiled from other languages (Scala, Groovy, Pascal) to JVM bytecode.

Java desktop applications and Web applets

With Java edition of SecureBlackbox you can add security functions to your applications running on Java runtime. This includes both Java applications and applications that are compiled from other languages (Scala, Groovy, Pascal) to JVM bytecode.

Android devices

If you develop for Android, you can use Java edition,.NET edition (in this edition you use Xamarin.Android, previously known as Mono for Android, the toolkit to write for Android in Java). Android 2.3 and later is supported by SecureBlackbox X and later.

If you use Pascal language, you can use NG edition with Delphi XE5 to Delphi 10 Seattle targeting Android.

Linux

Linux is one of available targets in C++ edition, .NET edition, VCL edition and Java edition.

  • C++ edition includes library files and C++ classes to link to your C or C++ application.
  • .NET edition lets you use Mono framework on Linux.
  • Java edition offers cross-platform libraries to be used with Java runtime and in Java applications.
  • VCL edition offers libraries to be used with FreePascal compiler on Linux.

macOS desktop systems

When writing for macOS you can choose from C++ edition, .NET edition and VCL edition. C++ edition is used when you write your applications in Objective C or in C++. Choose VCL edition when your application is written in Delphi or FreePascal and is compiled to macOS. .NET edition lets you use Mono framework on macOS.

macOS 10.6 and later are supported. C++ edition includes both 32-bit and 64-bit libraries. VCL edition currently supports 32-bit versions with Delphi compiler and 32-bit and 64-bit versions with FreePascal.

iPhone and iPad devices (iOS)

SecureBlackbox supports iOS 5 and later with C++ edition, .NET edition, VCL edition, NG edition. Choose C++ edition for applications written in Objective C or in C++. Take .NET edition for applications compiled with Xamarin. Use NG edition with Delphi XE4 to Delphi 10.1 Berlin targeting iOS. Take VCL edition for applications in FreePascal, which are compiled to iOS.

All editions support iOS 5 and later. All editions include libraries for device and simulator.
