Distributed Cryptography Add-on for SecureBlackbox®

SecureBlackbox product diagram

Distributed Cryptography add-on lets you sign server-located documents and data using clients' X.509 certificates without sending the data to the client or transferring the certificate's private key to the server. The add-on can also be used to authenticate the client with the certificate, stored on the client side, with custom server-side validation.

If you have a web application, this is accomplished by placing a client-side browser module (currently we offer Java applet and Java Web Start application or ActiveX control) to the web page. If you have a desktop application or mobile app, SecureBlackbox provides classes and components for the client side as well.

Client-side modules and classes perform the cryptographic operation using certificates located on the client computer without transferring the private key to the server. Server-side data is not sent to the client as well - instead only hash of the data is sent for signing.

Distributed Cryptography add-on is available for licensing as an additional option for Professional, Standard, Data Security, XMLBlackbox, PDFBlackbox, OfficeBlackbox and PKIBlackbox packages.

The licensed version of Distributed Cryptography add-on includes the source code of all client-side modules (Java, ActiveX, Flash) so that you can build your own modules or modify existing ones.

We are working on JavaScript version of the client-side module, and as soon as WebCrypto API provides access to client certificate storages, we will make it possible to use pure JavaScript solution for client-side signing of data and authentication.
