A successive major version of SecureBlackbox, a popular software component suite from EldoS, has been released today. The new version, with a number of 12, offers important enhancements in the product functionality, as well as numerous improvements to the internal architecture of the product.
One-time passwords have ultimately become widespread all around the world as an effective method of counteraction against a variety of malicious activities, from amateur password theft to generously funded cyber espionage. Implementing your own hash- or time-based one-time password schemes has never been so easy, thanks to SecureBlackbox 12 and its out-of-the-box support for industry-standard HOTP and TOTP protocols.
Do you develop iOS or Android applications with Delphi XE4, XE5 or XE6, or maybe you’re just starting to look at this promising development platform? We have got some good news for you too. SecureBlackbox 12 comes with a brand new NG edition extending its family, which offers native Delphi components for these popular mobile platforms.
Ken Ivanov, the director of EldoS Corp., comments: “CloudBlackbox has been significantly improved and enhanced with support for a well-known cloud service provider Box.com, a yet another step in increasing the satisfaction of our clients. I am equally happy to announce another long awaited feature, a SOAP client, which harmoniously complements XMLBlackbox in particular and the entire collection of SecureBlackbox components as a whole. The directions of continuous enrichment of EldoS’ products always meet actual demands of our customers, and this makes the real value of our products even higher.”
It should be noted that the internals of SecureBlackbox have also got remarkable improvements. A great amount of source code was optimized to address increased demand for time and resource effectiveness of cryptographic algorithms on mobile and low-performance platforms. Memory management has also undertaken a major re-work to decrease memory burden and squeeze better productivity out of platform-specific garbage collectors.
Among other SecureBlackbox 12 enhancements are support for the most recent novelties in CAdES standard and the latest changes in HTTP/1.1 protocol, a possibility to access PKCS#11 devices under Linux, Mac OS X, iOS and Android platforms, and a number of smaller yet no less engaging security and usability features.
