EldoS Corporation is the long standing leader on the market of data security components. The most important addition in the release of its SecureBlackbox 7.1 is new package – EDIBlackbox. Electronic Document Interchange (EDI) – is a set of standards determining formats and properties for electronic transmission of documents among organizations. The standards are widely used in corporate environment. EDIBlackbox offers in-house and commercial software developers a set of functions supporting Electronic Document Interchange.
Developers of EDI applications for banks and other businesses will benefit from use of AS/2 – a secure file transfer protocol. It is based on S/MIME and HTTPS and provides strong security features for both of them. Modern AS/2 is applicable where high level of protection, universality and extendability are required. An easy-to-use EldoS implementation of AS/2 makes your application compatible with many existing EDI parties, thus significantly simplifying integration tasks.
In addition to introduction of EDI compliance, EldoS Corporation has made significant improvements to other components of its flagship product, SecureBlackbox. First of all, OpenPGPBlackbox package now supports creation of self-extracting SFX archives. This feature simplifies implementation of extremely convenient and frequently requested functionality for work with PDF documents. Functionality of PDFBlackbox package is extended to support time labels that can be attached any time on or after digital signing of the document. Both SSHBlackbox and PKIBlackbox packages can now handle encryption keys stored on cryptographic tokens. These keys can be used, for example, for authentication on a remote SSH-servers.
It is also very important to note that SSH and SFTP components support GSS-API/SSPI standard (specified in RFC2743). This gives developers an ability to use Integrated Windows Authentication for authentication on a remote servers. Thus, any type of authentication (login-password, biometric, token-based, etc.) can be reduced to unified protocol. By using GSS-API, SSH/SFTP communications can be extended by infinite number of different authentication methods.
"It is my pleasure to look at all that huge amount of work we've done and to be able to say that we added quite a lot of new functionalities to SecureBlackbox. I would say that the most awaited one is support of EDI-compliance", – says Eugene Mayevski, CTO of EldoS Corporation, – "Need for secure EDI-compliant file transfer urged us to implement support of AS/2 protocol. I think clients will be really happy to upgrade to the version 7.1 because lots of their feature requests are there: storing key on cryptotokens, SFX archives secured by OpenPGP, GSS-API support and much more."
Overall, the newly released Version 7.1 of SecureBlackbox by EldoS Corporation makes standard compliance, data encryption and decryption, secure storage and transfer, authentication and integrity checks even more robust and up-to-date. Use of this software component will help to bring developed software products in line with modern market demands for EDI standards, unbreakable security and absolute reliability.
