Create virtual file systems and disks, expose and manage remote data as if they were files on the local disk.

Is the .NET implementation fully managed code?

Yes. However it uses certain P/Invokes for MMF transport and some synchronization primitives. So it can't be used in Mono out of the box.

Thanks for the response!

As an exercise, I just modified the SendNote application to support MMF. It works great on Windows / VS 2005.

I then moved the project over to Linux / Mono, added a reference to MsgConnectMono.dll to a MonoDevelop project and receive: "The type or namespace name "MCMMFTransport" does not exist.

Is MCMMFTransport included/supported in the Mono implementation?

Thanks,
Matt

No, it's not due to the reasons mentioned above.

Understood. One more related question.

If I avoid the use of MMF, is the Mono DLL fully compatible with Windows? Ideally, I would like to distribute one build of my product that can run on both Windows .NET & Mono rather than two builds referencing different MsgConnect DLLs.

Matt

I can see several ifdefs related to mono, in the code, so I assume the assemblies are not identical.
