Hi,

How difficult would it be to get MsgConnect working with Lazarus/FPC?

Thanks,
Gerry

Version 1.6 of MsgConnect, available on the site, works with FPC 2.4 on Windows. Support for other platforms is considered - for Linux there were many breaking changes in FPC (between 2.2 and 2.4) so it's not trivial to move Kylix-compatible code to FPC 2.4.

Hi,

Thanks for the speedy reply!

I'm working on a project that will have a Delphi based client on Windows and a server on Linux. I was considering using FPC for the server. However, I've pretty much decided to use MsgConnect, so it sounds like the server may have to be C++ instead.

Thanks,
Gerry

I think we'll be able to update MsgConnect code for FPC/Linux as well. It will just take some time (a week or two).

Hi,

Great! I can't wait to check it out. I'm trying to integrate MsgConnect with several backend servers and this would save a lot of time.

Thanks,
Gerry
