Is it always necessary to use MCMemAlloc? Could I just use a TMemoryStream's memory block instead?

Where exactly do you want to use it? If you are asking about setting the Data property of MCMessage when sending it, then you can put anything there - the data is copied internally to the newly allocated buffer.

If I want populate a MCMessage to transmit the contents of a TMemoryStream, can I skip the need to call MCMemAlloc and just use Data = pMemStream->Memory.
