Is it possible to add tags to directories? When I call the following two lines, the latter raises an exception (-24, errInvalidParameter):

Storage.SetFileTagAsNumber(Dirpath,'FID', 0, 1991);

I am setting the TagID = 0 so I reference the tag via its tag name.

Appreciate any advice,

Yes, it is possible to add tags to directories, you can even add tags to named streams.

The error occurred because you have not added the tag name to the storage, in the other words you haven't declared your tag. You have to call AddTagName method one time per storage before using the tag name. Please refer to the documentation https://www.eldos.com/documentation/so...gname.html . Actually the documentation is a bit incomplete, there is not mentioned that the TagID parameter may have value 0, in this case the system choose the TagID value for given TagName automatically.
