Hi!

I am going through the sample code and referring to following link for help

https://www.eldos.com/documentation/solfs/drv/ref_howto_basic_create_storage.html

-> It seems that the Mount button in the sample code creates a storage. It opens a dialog and allows to choose a filename. In doing so I see extension type "Storage Files (*.st)". I'd like more detail information on how this works.

Please let me know

Thanks,
Sujesh

Hello

The mount button just opens the already existing storage file. To create the storage you should use "Create storage" button.

Hello!

But I do not see any Create Storage button. There are only these buttons visible.

1. Install drivers
2. Uninstall drivers
3. Mount drivers
4. Format

Yes, in the .NET example only format button exists. There are the code for creation only the fixed size storage. You can create variable size storage as it described in the mentioned page of the documentation.

Do I have to create storage myself or is there already any storage created in the sample code.

I've installed the drivers. My system configuration is Intel Core 2 Duo processor but it seems the AMD64 driver did the trick.

So, What after I've installed the drivers.

Any help would be appreciated

Referring to some forum discussions I've been successful to install drivers.

I created a storage using the Application Edition and then mounted the storage by using the OS Edition.

Am I going on the right direction.

What now after I've created a mounting point?

Please help ASAP

Hello

You can create storage by OS edition with the same code as in App edition. The API and classes is mostly the same in App and OS editions.

After creation of mounting point you can use the disk from any application if you have mounted it to disk letter.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Now, I have to read the files stored in the SOlFS virtual file.

After this, I have to make sure that these files that i read can be used by applications like Microsoft Word, My own application, Excel, Access etc.

What are the level of protection i can get from SolFS?

How can i achieve this?
