Increase in performance if using partition instead of file?

I'm very curious about this. I see for OS Edition, there is option to use a disk partition rather than a file. Would using a partition result in better performance, or would it be the same as a file?

Yes, this will work faster, but not significantly. Increasing page size is a better strategy.
