The project I'm working on may ultimately require FIPS 140-2 validation on the client side. I had never even heard of FIPS 140-2 until today, so I'm not even entirely sure this question makes sense. We have been told that using SecureFX from VanDyke.com would satisfy any such requirement. I, of course, don't want to use SecureFX because I'm already very happy with SBB. But I may get put in a position of being forced to move.

Question: Have you considered getting FIPS 140-2 validation for SBB?

We did consider it, but the cost of such validation (price checked a couple of months ago) can not be justified by potential benefits that such validation can bring. So we decided to put this question on hold until autumn.

Sincerely yours
