Hi,

I want to develop a in-house application to store some data in a DataBase but I want the data to be encrypted. I am already checking SecureBlackBox to be able to secure the communication between clients and the server (SSL). Now what I am trying to find is the best way and the best tool to be able to encrypt the data in my DB. I dont know if SecureBlackBox is able to do that (hopefully).

I dont need all the data in the database to be encrypted but just some fields, I want to be able to use the databsse index to sort my data. I would like to use AES-256 if possible. So what I am looking for is a function to be able to encrypt a string and then put it in the database and of course the reverse.

I am using Delphi 2007.

Thanks for any input.

You can use ElSymmetricCrypto class and it's descendants to encrypt the data using symmetric algorithms. Unfortunately there are no samples available yet, but there were some posts in the forum that show how to use that class. Do the search across the forum.

Hi,

ok I checked the post, but the guy seem to have many problems and he finish by saying he create his own class. That does not help much. Do you think you could create a small example on how to encrypt and decrypt a string?

Thanks.

What you need is a code piece from there. The code piece is correct. The user just didn't do what he needed, but that's another story.

BTW according to the policy we only create samples when they are small *and* when the request comes from the registered customer.

Ok I will try the code tonight.

I understand that you only provide samples to registered customer, only problem is, I dont want to buy the product before I am sure it will do what I need.

Its hard to test a function if there is no example or documentation.

Thanks.
