Has anyone developed code using SecureBlackbox on a 32 bit Windows PC envronment and deployed to a 64 bit Windows Server environment? I would like to confirm it can work without issue before beginning down that road. Any positive or negative experiences would be welcome.

Should have had that in the original post...

SecureBlackbox .NET Standard Package
Runtime Version: 2.0.50727
Version: 5.2.117
Build machine OS: Win XP SP2 (32 bit)
Target machine: Win Server 2003 (64 bit)

Goal: Add 64 bit SQL 2005 CLR routines to perform FTP, SFTP, PGP Encryption, and Decryption from a stored procedure running as a SQL scheduled job. I have successfully done this using SecureBlackbox on a 32 bit server with very good results and would now like to upgrade our servers to 64 bit OS and 64 bit SQL Server.

Question: Will the 32 bit SecureBlackbox CLR code continue to work on a 64 bit server? What changes or actions, if any, will be required?

The .NET assemblies were built with processor-independent option set, so they should work as is. We did certain testing in 64-bit environments and found no problems.

There can be problems related to SQL Server 64-bit, however. This is the thing I can't say for sure. The reason I mentioned this is that 64-bit Windows has more strict requirements for some operations. Maybe the requirements in SQL server are also more strict.

I've got a question reading this post:

With the VCL edition, can we target Win64 systems?. I don't know anybody running a Win64 OS, but it's interesting to know if we can go into any trouble...

I runned into troubles with the FPC edition and Windows Mobile that dissapeared with .NET edition, so it comes to my mind those rotation and shift instructions that made the VCL edition processor dependant.

Win32 applications can be run on 64-bit Windows in emulation mode (this is done by Windows automatically). Delphi can't compile the code fo native 64-bit processor so far. This is planned for Highlander 2 (Delphi 2008) as far as I know.
