Does someone have an example of how GetFileList would work? I need to go through the directories on the server and see which files have the correct suffix and then download them.

It's better to use GetNameList in your case. It gives only file names (no extra information).
Before you call GetNameList, assign an event handler to OnTextDataLine event. Then call GetNameList and before GetNameList returns, OnTextDataLine event handler is called one or more times with the entries of the name list.

Did you check the samples for how GetFileList works? GetNameList works in the same way.
