Hi,

We have a requirement where we have to add an image to a signed PDF file. Is this possible without breaking the existing signature? Is it possible to add an image to the document in a way that the signature does not cover the image? Can we use Pdf Form field to achieve this? Does SecureBlackbox allows to create a form field in the PDF file?

Thanks in advance,
Nuno Pereira

No, it is technically not possible. Adding anything to the pdf document except that explicitly allowed by signature (form filling or comments) will invalidate existing signatures.

Yes, theoretically it is possible to add the image using incremental update, but Adobe will show that the existing signatures are invalid. Because it checks not only the data that covered by the signature, but also checks what modifications to the pdf document are done.

SecureBlackbox supports adding empty signature fields and then you can sign them. The PDF component doesn't support filling other form fields.
