Hi Eldos Team,

I'm encountering some issues while trying to generate a CSR from my Windows Mobile 6.5.3 app.

My application crashes with the error code 0xC0000005.
This is the same issue as mentioned in this ticket :
https://eldos.com/forum/read.php?FID=7&TID=2606

Code
var csr = new TElCertificateRequest();
csr.Subject.LoadFromDNString("/CN=" + "000" +"/OU=STERIA/O=STERIA/L=LYON/S=FR/C=FR", false);
csr.Generate(SBConstants.Unit.SB_CERT_ALGORITHM_ID_RSA_ENCRYPTION, 512, SBConstants.Unit.SB_CERT_ALGORITHM_SHA256_RSA_ENCRYPTION);

This code works while debuging with Visual Studio, but doesn't while launching the app directly from the emulator.

This issue is reproducible with the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Professionnal VGA Emulator.
-Deploy the app containing this code
-Uncradle the Emulator
-Launch the app from FileExplorer

You can see in the attachment a part of the dump I got after the issue.

We are using SecureBlackBox 13.0.278.0.

Regards

Thank you for the report.

Does the code work for you on the actual device?

The error code stands for "Access Violation" which usually means corruption of the unmanaged memory. Since SecureBlackbox code is managed, the error happens somewhere in CLR internals. Also the code works one one emulator and doesn't work on another, and this makes tracking of the issue even harder.

Unfortunately no, we got two G2W RP1100 and this code doesn't work on both devices. It just crashes the same way as it does on the emulator.

I didn't say that, what I mean is that the issue occurs every time we launch the app without Visual Studio.

I meant that the code works on some emulators.

Anyway thank you for the details. We will try to reproduce the issue in our conditions.

Sincerely yours

Version 14 doesn't crash for me. I would like to send you the assemblies and the test project so that you could test them in your conditions. So I will move your initial request to the HelpDesk.

Sincerely yours

Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying.

I'm interested.
How would you send me these assemblies?

In the mean time we'll test the 13.0.282.0.
