Hello!
I have a question about "Handle server disconnections in a Delphi FTPS client".
If I have understood you correctly, there is no "built-in" keep-alive functionality. The programmer must himself take care of it. For example, by a timer event, that at any given time the server employs, for example, by uploading a small file? What is the minimum needed in order to prevent the server from disconnecting? Is there any sample?

Kind regards
Frank

The FTP client component of SecureBlackbox implements keep-alives internally starting from version 12, if memory serves. Just set KeepAliveInterval property.

Keep-Alive only prevents the server (activated by setting TransferKeepAliveInterval property to non-zero value) from disconnecting only while uploading/downloading big files - right?
What if the client sends nothing and the server drops the connection?

Kind regards

Yes, keep-alives work during the data transfer.

If the client does nothing, you can implement some keep-alive using NOOP command yourself .
