Blackbox (C++ Edition for Windows) confuses me !

Yes, this is very likely - ZIP format is not prone to errors in this situation.

From the license ticket linked to your account I can see the only license for SecureBlackbox .NET. If you have another license for C++, please link the corresponding license to your account.

I would like to turn your attention to our SolFS product (https://www.eldos.com/solfs/). Among other benefits SolFS works well as a replacement for ZIP archives when you need to store many files. It supports optional compression and it has journalling mode in which corruption is much less likely to happen. It can turn out that it will be faster than ZIP as well.

So before you continue your ZIP investigations I strongly suggest checking SolFS - it should address your issues easily.

The C++ license i'm using is still a trial-license.

As you may have figured out, one of our problems is backup-procedures / time taken.

I'll look into the SolFS. Is it possible for a backup process to handle millions of files in in this FS as one (1) huge file ?

Thanks

That's exactly what SolFS does.
