Are there plans to produce a version of SBB that can be registered as an assembly on SQL Server 2005 and used from a user defined function?

We didn't perform our own tests, but somebody reported that SecureBlackbox assemblies can't be loaded to SQL Server 2005 at all because SQL Server checks assembly dependencies before loading the assemblies and fails because it doesn't find Windows.Forms. I would say this behaviour is wrong but we can't do anything about this.

Is it possible to produce a version that does not require Windows.Forms? That would solve the problem.

The Windows.Forms is used to show the nag screen, which is the most effective measure for licensing enforcement. I will discuss with developers, what we can offer.

I understand the requirement. But how about a version that only works if a proper key is provided in a specially named file in the execution directory? (In danger of losing Eldos as a solution at my location and quite frankly don't want to have to convert a bunch of data to implement a new encryption methodology.)

We already implemented dynamic Winforms loading, so the upcoming build update should work with SQL correctly.

FYI: The build has been released on saturday
