Indeed certificate *generation* (or creation from certificate request) requires a license for PKIBlackbox package.

That is CryptoBlackbox cannot create X.509 back, only the premium version of the KPI can be created, right?

Let's check what you need. If you have X.509 certificate in certain format, you can load and save it using CryptoBlackbox in different formats. This is free. You can access certificates in Windows Certificate Storage (on Windows) and in future in Android and Mac/iOS certificate storages.

The functions that require PKIBlackbox license are
- *generation* of the keypair for Certificate Request
- creation of X.509 certificate based on Certificate Request
- *generation* of the keypair and creation of X.509 certificate

The price of PKIBlackbox license depends on different licensing options.

You can calculate the price and buy the license online on https://www.eldos.com/sbb/calc.php
