we are investigating how to build a VPN client. As we need secure tunnels as we work with Point Of Sale stuff.

Does eldos provide a VPN client. We currently use Delphi XE.

Kind Regards,

Thank you for your interest in our products. You can build a secure tunnel, either SSL/TLS-based or SSH-based and SecureBlackbox offers both client- and server-side components for this. However, such tunnels work on application level, i.e. certain port is opened on the client system and your client application uses that port as a "gate" (either a socks proxy or some other mechanism) to the other network.

If you want to have a VPN connection to existing remote network on a system level (so that each application running on the client system thought that it's plugged directly to that remote network), this is done lower on the network stack (maybe even in kernel mode - I don't know for sure cause we don't deal with network internals). While SecureBlackbox still can be used to secure traffic going on that level, you would still need to create a module that provides VPN.

Sincerely yours
Eugene Mayevski
