We’re having problems with an application that’s using the FTPS side of things. I’m not a developer and am looking for an easy way to test if it’s a problem with the Secure Black Box implementation of FTPS and the remote device or a developer problem.

Is there a test client somewhere that’ll allow me to connect to the other end using FTPS?

Thanks
Warrick

There's a sample project included with SecureBlackbox. What kind of problems are you having?

Thanks Eugene,

We're getting the following error returned "Control data transfer error (error code is 10054)"

There is a file created on the remote server but it's 0 bytes.

Here's what I see in the logs:

Does the sample project included with SecureBlackbox have a compiled binary that I can run?

Thanks again
Warrick

Does the problem happen always or only sometimes?
If it happens always, then this is due to some specifics of the specified server. We will test WS_FTP Server now.

No, sorry. You would need to compile one.

I have tested WS_FTP server 5.04 and uploadded a 70Mb file to it without problems in both SSL and unprotected modes. So the problem seems to be specific to your particular server or configuration.

yes, this does happen every time.

Thanks for testing WS_FTP, I appreciate the assistance.

It must have something to do with our implementation, so I'll have the developer look into this further and get back to you with details.

Thanks

I am having the same issue when connecting to a WS_FTP server using a trial version of the FTPS tools. Has this issue been resolved? Does it only happen with the trial version because of the transfer throttling? Thanks in advance for any help.

A similar issue was fixed in the latest build update (5.2.113). Please upgrade to it and check if the error still appears. The latest build can be downloaded from http://www.eldos.com/sbb/download/62-.php.
