We have been notified by our customers that there is much more CONNECTION LOST error since we have upgraded SimplesFTP component from 4.2 to 4.4.

The servers did not change nor our code.

Is there anything that can explain why such disconnections could happen (there is more that 5% of our customers who noticed that) after we upgrade the component.

We did not change the code, we just update component. What could have happened ?

(Server : SSH v2 - Linux Debian 3.1 Sarge - Scponly - Delphi 7)

Connection is usually lost because one of the parties closes it. So you need to (a) handle OnError event and see whethere there's some SSH error there, and (b) ask the users to check their SSH server log.

Can i download previous releases for testing ? (4.3)

I guess that the versions released on september/october has made issues with our servers.

It's a good idea to try SBB5, it contains a lot of fixes and improvements comparing to SBB4. It is in RC stage at the moment, but it is stable enough. The release build will be published in 10-15 days.

We don't keep old versions.

What exactly component are you using? If you are using SimpleSftpClient, then you can do the following:

1) set AutoAdjustTransferBlock to false
2) Set PipelineLength to 1
3) set UploadBlockSize to 32768
4) set DownloadBlockSize to 8192

This will slow down the transfer significantly but should revert the behaviour to the dumb one of previous versions.

Sincerely yours
