I'm using the TElSimpleFTPSClient (.Net libraries). Is there some reason why the client always sends a TYPE A command before a NLST/LIST/MLSD command is sent, regardless of what the TransferType is set to?

Hi. TransferType is set for file transfers, while TYPE A is issued for directory listing, which is always sent as text (which is required by RFC 959 and later).
