Using your product to build a solution that collects files from multiple partners. Tried testing by exchanging PGP keys (mine generated by SecureBlackBox). Of the three partners helping with the test, two are using the same PGP product (McAfee's). Each said that they could not read my public key, nor could they decrypt a file I encrypted using their public key.

I set the algorithm to 3DES, encryption type to low, use new features to false and use old packets to false. Any ideas?

Thanks,

David

Would you be so kind to specify the exact error messages that your partners get? This will help us much to find the reason for the issue.

Also please specify the exact version of SecureBlackbox that you are using (4.4 or 5.0)

Try setting UseOldPackets to true. McAfee PGP stuff is an old version of PGP Desktop. It misses support for packet type 18 and later.

Working with version 4.4. I will try changing to UseOldPackets, which might fix the problem of correctly encrypting a file with a partner's key. Need all the encryption/decryption combinations to work.

Thanks,

David

One more thing. The McAfee product is rejecting my public key. I have confirmed that DSS and 2048 encryption is okay. Anything else that might cause the key to fail?

Thanks,

David

Would you be so kind to specify the exact error message? Also please check if SecureBlackbox sample keys (secbbox.pkr) are accepted by McAfee software.

Would you be so kind to answer my second question too -- does McAfee understand sample SecureBlackbox public keys?

McAfee does understand sample public key. The samplekey.asc file was loaded.
