We also checked performance on our side, and situation is as following:

Within WinZip encryption for each file new AES key needs to be derived, since specification (and good cryptography practice) requires different salt value for each file.
Their standard also hardcodes 1000-iteration PBKDF function for key derivation, which is very time consuming operation: in our test with 200 files it took 9 minutes for compression with 1000 iterations, and around 2 minutes with 3 iterations (and around 2 minutes used for compression without encryption).
