Hi !

When I compile my Delphi-project I got a warning: "[Warning] SBX509.pas (4935): variable 'i' might not be intialized".

I had already some bugs in my software because of not initializing variables. So, how can I solve this problem ??

Regards,

Rainer

Please specify the exact version number of SecureBlackbox.

I bought the SFTP-client package one or two weeks ago .... the changes.txt contains the following line:
SecureBlackbox - version 4.0.94 - Released July 20, 2006

We are close to SecureBlackbox 5 release and the code was seriously changed since 4.4.94. There will be another bunch of uninitialized variables there ;))

Great :-( .... I bought SFTPBlackbox Client-only package, single-developer Vendor license on 11/23/2006 and I got the 4.0.94. You tell something about 4.4.94 (why didn't I get this version)... and SecureBlackBox 5 will be released soon.

I guess I have to pay for the update to ver. 5. Is this correct ?? Does ver. 5 still contains the uninitialized variables ??

No, you don't need to pay for upgrade. If you need the license for the beta, I can send it to you now. And all customers will be notified about how to upgrade, when the version 5 is released.

As version 5 is in beta stage, it contains certain amount of unoptimized and unhandled code issues. The code will be cleaned for 5.0 release.

Regarding your particular issue: please replace "i" with "idx". This mistake is *very* unlikely even when using the TElX509Certificate.LoadFrom*PFX() method, and when you use SFTP, you will never face it (the method is used for PKI operations, which are almost never used in SSH).
