Hi,

I'm trying to use your "Tiny PDF Signer" demo to learn about signing and timestamping of a PDF file document.

- I select a pdf file
- I set file name and destination path
- I select my FileCert and i set its password
- I set every other params
- I click [ok].

After few minutes appears an error message:
¬ęConnection failed due to error (75784). (Error code is 75784)¬Ľ

How do i solve this?

Thanks in advance.

Stefano

Thank you for contacting us.

Do you set any TSA server URL? It seems that TSA server certificate can not be verified for some reason.

I set only the value of "TSA server URL" to [https://servizi.arubapec.it/tsa/ngrequest.php] and Username and Password into "HttpClient.RequestParameters" group with their values.

I also verified that my FileCert is outdated, could be this a possible cause?

This is SSL error, and it's reported because validation of the certificate chain presented by your TSA can not be validated right.

Yes is could be.

You should check the values of Validity and Reason variables inside TfrmMain.HTTPClientCertificateValidate event handler to clarify the reason of error.

First of all you should find out exact reason of the error. As Eugene wrote above it could be that validation of the certificate chain presented by your TSA can not be validated right.

Could you also clarify if you need to sign the PDF or only timestamp it. If you need to sign it you can't do this without a certificate.

Actually, timestamping without signing is also not possible.

ok. I verified Validity and Reason variables inside TfrmMain.HTTPClientCertificateValidate event handler with these results:

Validity= cvInvalid
Reason= vrCRLNotVerified

I asked about "Timestamping a pdf file without a FileCert" only because i would learn the timestamping procedures; about the signing i tried using some demo of yours with good results.

Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the problem because I don't have username/password for TSA server. Try to:

1) set CertificateValidator.MandatoryCRLCheck to 'false';
2) add SBLDAPCRL unit to MainForm uses section

and check if this helps.
