I tried these examples but I get an error. When I go in the CertValidator_OnBeforeCRLRetrieverUse routine the retriever is not set. It is null. As I understand it, it should be created by the validator, or should I create the retriever myself?

It is created by the validator, when initialized properly. If it's null, then either you have not initialized the HTTP retrievers in your code or your certificate contains a reference to non-HTTP CRL location (eg. LDAP). Do you have these lines in your code?

// The following lines are required for HTTP retrieval of CRLs and OCSP in TElX509CertificateValidator to work

Sincerely yours
