I'm having trouble with a client decrypting a file that we used PGPBB to encrypt. If we encrypt the file using GPG they have no problems with it. Looking at their log file, It is trying to use their subkey for the decryption, while PGPBB used the primary key. Watching the verbose output from GPG shows "gpg: using subkey XXXXXXXX instead of primary key YYYYYYYY".

Can someone from EldoS verify that? And possibly tell me a workaround? If EldoS would like to see the public key itself, we can match arragements but since it belongs to a client I would perfer not to attach it here.

Yes, current version of SecureBlackbox always uses primary key for encryption (if primary key is an encryption key, of course). The upcoming build of SecureBlackbox (which is expected in the nearest future) introduces the necessary improvements that allow to specify any subset of keys/subkeys to be used for encryption.

Yes, both the primary key and the subkey are marked as "for encryption". Good news to hear that future builds will handle this.

Is there a workaround for right now?

Unfortunately, there's no such workaround. We are really sorry for postponing your development process, but the only solution for you is to wait for the update (it will be published in 2 or 3 days).

Hello again, sorry for bumping this thread.

Does the 5.0.100 version released on 11/8 have the fix for this? It did not seem to based on the change file.

Do you have any updates on this. Im currently seeing the same problem where both primary and subkeys are being used but its causing issues with the vendor im using. They only need it to be encrypted with the subkey.
