Greetings,

First of all apologies for bringing this thread back to life but I thought that I might just as well post somewhere instead of creating a new thread to discuss a similar issue.

I am an university student with a Server - Windows Phone project to handle some data. I have a working model with standard .NET sockets which works flawless but due the fact that I have to deal with transactions of sensitive I decided to implement TLS support.

After doing some research I found SecureBlackBox solutions and was able to test all the samples that are provided, inclusive to implement ElServerSSLSocket in my server, which works fine with the client demos provided.

The current issue is doing the same for the Windows Phone, because it's native Socket from siverlight is already by nature very limited, I am unable to establish a connection to my server using a TElSecureClient (I can't understand why although I have been trying to get it right for the past 24 hours).

If its not much trouble, would it be possible to get a draft of a very basic WP SSL client?

Best Regards,

Alex.

Actually if you check this topic, on page 5 you will find the code that shows simple SSL client going through the socket, which works. Are you having problems with it?

I have tried that but I keep getting Connection Error - EELSimpleSSLCLientError
Whenever I use Open();

Code
TElSimpleSSLClient c = new TElSimpleSSLClient();
c.Versions = SBConstants.Unit.sbTLS12;
c.Address = "localhost";
c.Port = 1776;
c.Enabled = true;
c.Open();
c.SendText("This is a test");
c.Close(false);

1) what error code are you getting? Inspect exception object and its ErrorCode property

2) Do you have a TLS server on the phone? Localhost denotes the same host on which the client is located.

3) Are you sure that your server supports TLS 1.2? I would bet it doesn't.

I seem to forgot about your 2nd point all the time, my sincere apologies for my ignorance!

I have now successfully established a connection with my Server, hopefully this should do the trick but I'll report later in case I find any more issues.

Thank you very much for your assistance!

You MUST handle OnCertificateValidate event and you don't do this.

We have plenty of samples including those for SSL. Please do check them before writing to the forum.
