What do I have to do to get the SFTP modules (C# / . Net) to work as regular old port 21 FTP (username/password only)?

Thanks in advance... Tried searching site and help, and bringing up the various methods and properties in Visual Studio, to no avail. Is there another component?

SFTP is not related to FTP protocol, which uses port 21. This is a totally different protocol with different ideology and design.

If you need FTP and FTP-over-SSL, use TElSimpleFTPSClient component, which provides client-side FTP/FTPS support. FTPS server will be released in SecureBlackbox 8.2 (later this month).

There exist components, which offer support for both FTP and SFTP in one component, but they are offering the common subset of features of those two protocols, which is not good - you can't combine a sport-coupe and an off-road successfully (and BMW X6 proves it - it just sucks).

Eugene:

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. My search for the info, as said, did not work (the name space of the components is not exactly helpful, does the S mean simple, secure, before FTP, after, etc..). So thanks!

And thanks for the editorial on BMWs!

Eugene:

Would you happen to know if there are any samples?

Thanks,

It's in <SecureBlackbox>\Samples\<language>\FTPSBlackbox\Client folder on your system.
