DownloadFile lock on empty file?

Now I see. Some 4.4 build (maybe build 94, I can't say for sure at the moment) had a problem with 0-length files. This has been fixed in SecureBlackbox 5.

Regarding the attachments - it's a VERY bad thing to attach bitmaps or Word files. So we've disabled this. Use PKZip to compress the images.

According to your release notes the empty file thing was fixed in As noted I'm using - it is most definitely not fixed as I can repro this problem %100 of the time with the ActiveX control.

5.0 is in beta, right? I'm assuming there's an upgrade fee? when is it released?

The upgrade is free for the customers who purchased the license in '2006.

There will be release candidate 1 in 2-3 days, followed (maybe by RC2) and then release.

Regarding the issue itself - it's possible (we had a crash of VCS) that some code of build 90 leaked to build 94. We will re-test the issue for SBB 5.

Well, I just downloaded beta 5 build 100 - the empty file download still locks up the control. Pretty easy to repro...

We are really sorry, but we were unable to reproduce the issue you reported with 5.0.100 build. Please check that the right DLLs are referenced from your application. We suggest you to try the following sequence of actions:
a) uninstall all installed versions of SecureBlackbox from your machine,
b) manually search for *BBox*.dll files on entire hard drive and remove them if any,
c) install SecureBlackbox 5.0.100,
d) run the SimpleSFTPDemo (included to the SBB package) and try to download an empty file.

Thank you for your assistance in solving the issue.

Well, I suppose the good news is that this changed behavior - the bad news is my authentication key for the license manager does not work for the 5.0 version so I have to use the demo key which is, of course, throttled heavily... which makes it difficult to try and repro the original problem I was having here.

With the demo license I can verify that downloading an empty file no longer hoses the session, so that's good anyway. Testing rapid fire file downloading will have to wait till I get an updated key for 5.0 I suppose.

Great, thank you for letting us know. We have sent the registration key for 5.0 to you.
