One of my customers is getting this error sporadically after being connected for a random length of time. Can you tell me what might be causing this error please.

SBB ActiveX version

Thanks

Thank you for contacting us.

What kind of service does your application use? Is it SSH or SFTP (or maybe port forwarding)? On what stage of the connection does the error occur?

It's SSH and the error occurs AFTER the session is connected at random intervals.

Seems to be a server-side issue at first glance. What server software does your customer connect to (please use ServerSoftwareName property to get the ID of the server software)? Does the issue occur with some particular server or with several different servers?

Also it's a good idea to disable keep-alives and key renegotiation (if any of them is used)

Sincerely yours

I'm waiting on the customer for the server version.

I wasn't aware there was a keep-alive option for SSH. How do I enable it?

Thanks

Keep-alive signals can be sent via the SendKeepAlive() method (either of IElSSHClientX or IElSimpleSSHClientX interfaces).

Hmmm, I don't seem to have that in my version (5.0.107). Is that something new?

I'm using ElSimpleSSHClient, how do I disable key renegotiation?

Thanks

Yes, both keep-alive and renegotiation support has been added later (in SBB 6 and 7), so they are not the case if you are using the 5th version of the product.

What are the [approximate] amounts of data exchanged between your application and the server? Did your customer have a chance to notice if the error occurs after some particular amount of data has been transferred between peers?
