I used PKI Blackbox for certificate thing, i created a certificate and retrived thru code:

TElWinCertStorage winCertStorage = new TElWinCertStorage();
winCertStorage.AccessType = accessType;
winCertStorage.SystemStores.Add("MY");
SBX509.TElX509Certificate cert = winCertStorage.get_Certificates(0);
byte[] certBA = null;
cert.SaveToBuffer(out certBA);
x509 = new System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate(certBA);

a certificate was available and it worked fine. But i CANNOT see this certificate in the cert store via MMC.

as such if a new user comes and wants to know whether the certificates are available or not, WHERE CAN WE SEE the certificates. i knew only via mmc, but here its not visible there.
PLEASE HELP to the earliest.

thanks.

The actual location of the certificate depends on AccessType used. With AccessType set to atLocalMachine, TElWinCertStorage gets the certificates from the system-wide 'MY' store. With AccessType set to atCurrentUser, TElWinCertStorage accesses 'MY' store corresponding to current user. Please try to check if the certificate is visible in MMC under both current user and local machine accounts.

TElWinCertStorage winCertStorage = new TElWinCertStorage();
winCertStorage.AccessType = accessType;

And what is the value of accessType here?

i had tried with both the access types:

1. atCurrentUser
2. atLocalMachine

in either of the case nothing is visible in MMC cert-store. But for communication through code they are available.

right now i just checked with atCurrentUser. but in MMC there's no certificate in Personal or trusted auth.

why are they NOT VISIBLE?

1) MMC is a bit buggy in that you need to *restart* it in order to see the newly added certificates
2) try running the code on other system.

Please also check if the certificate is visible in the Internet Explorer certificate viewer (Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Content -> Certificates).

3) restarted MMC still not visible(infact restarted PC too) :(

now what?
why is not visible though it exists somewhere there as thru code its accessible?
