Does anyone know if there are any limits to the size of the file for encryption. Small files work, but we're trying it on a 6 GB file and it display an error that indicates numeric overflow.

Would you be so kind to specify the classes you are using to encrypt the source file (TElPGPWriter/TElMessageSigner/TElSymmetricCrypto/etc.)?

We are using the TElPGPWriter with compression on and compression level = 9.

Current version of TElPGPWriter does not support files larger than 2GB. However, we are working on support for larger files, hope it will be available in about a month.

I'm sorry to reserruct an old thread, but I'm hitting the same wall.

I'm writing a backups safeguarding tool that will encrypt server backup files before writing them to removable storage. Evenrything works file as long as I'm using test files (a few megabytes) but real data file (well, performance test data) fails to be encrypted correctly.

Is there a status update on that issue ?

Also, I need to enable the compression (since raw backup tends to be both large and easily compressed) and I've read in another thread that cmpression was causing problems. Is there a fix in sight ?

Thanks,
Stephane

There's SecureBlackbox 5 beta on the site. You can check whether it works for you. What size do your "large" files have?

Sincerely yours

BTW, that makes me think: does the size limit apply to the PKI components as well ?

Hm... stupid question: the PKI component do not deal with files but with buffers.

SecureBlackbox 5 beta supports files up to 2Gb. The release version will include support for larger files.

TElMessage* classes of SecureBlackbox 5 also work with streams, so you can pass file streams to them.
