Is there any way to get buffers during read/write in 4096 byte lengths? We want to encrypt files with 4096 byte length blocks(except the latest block) Filter returns buffers with auxilary lengths...

When the "process-cache" operation is handled, the filter passes to you whatever the initiating process has specified as the buffer. For "cache-filesystem" operations the buffer is a multiple of the cache page size.

There's no way to easily change the buffer size.

CallbackFilter includes several encryption-related samples and we recommend that you use one of them as a guide - encryption in filters is extremely non-trivial to implement. In particular, encryption algorithms are used in a special mode which allow seeking through the stream.

Eugene Mayevski
