It can be implemented in the next build.

Thanks a lot for your assistance!

Would you be able to provide us with a timeline of availability if the next build, so that we can plan our work around it?

Also, apart from FSCTL_FILE_LEVEL_TRIM command, would it be possible to include monitoring also for FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA and FSCTL_OFFLOAD_WRITE commands? We discovered that sometimes these commands can also be issued, and can have the same effect.

Thanks again.

I will answer after some tests within 3-4 working days.

Could it be tested on any third party SSD or there is a limited number of products that support ODX technology ?

I'm not sure i understood your question. Although we know that ODX is only supported by compatible hardware, we wish to be in a position to detect the FSCTL_OFFLOAD_WRITE command if this is emitted by the OS.

Ok, one more technical question, do you need both - pre- and post- processing of required FSCTLs ?

Ideally it is provided in the form of a notification callback, similar to the existing OnWriteFileN notification which is already available in the CbFilter SDK. We do not need pre-processing since we do not need to manipulate the command before it is executed.

Thank you.

Hello,

I downloaded the filter v3.1.84 to test this new functionality. The OnUserFsRequest delegate has the following parameters:

"OnUserFsRequest(CallbackFilter sender, string fileName, uint userFsControlCode, System.IntPtr buffer, uint bufferLength)"

When this is invoked, does 'buffer' point to an unmanaged FILE_LEVEL_TRIM struct?

Thanks
