Hi there,
I trying to figure out where CallbackFilter would work & what needs to be done.

Your answer will help me alot in terms of deciding what we want to do.

Which versions of Windows is supported for CallbackFilter (do you have people using in these environments):
- 2003 (SP?)
- 2008
- Windows 7
- Windows 8
- 2012
Any special consideration in terms of
- build
- ddk

I am going to try out on 2003 first. Anyone out there using CallbackFilter on 2003? Anything special needs to be done? Any and all help is much appreciated.

thanks,

CallbackFilter will work on XP and later as specified on http://www.eldos.com/cbflt/spec.php . Regarding Windows 8 and 2012 Server - CallbackFilter generally works but issues with Metro applications are possible (though we didn't get a single bug report related to Windows 8 yet).

DDK is irrelevant unless you plan to recompile the source code. We build drivers using DDK version 6001.18000 (whatever it is - I don't know for sure how it was officially named).

Hi Eugene,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, we are going to compile the source code for different versions of Windows OS.

- Are you implying that if we use "DDK version 6001.18000" then we should be fine with 2003?
- How about 2012?
- Are you not moving to latest DDK?
- On what Windows OS (version) you build your driver?

This will help us plan for future work. Thank you very much for all your help.

It's not a question of DDK really - the code will work on XP and Win2003 no matter what DDK you use. However, it's possible that the build scripts that we have won't work with the latest WDK (700x) as we didn't upgrade them yet.

See my previous answer.

No and this doesn't matter. Only code itself matters.
