When I put in the drive letter of a mapped network drive (i.e. O:\ mapped to \\fileserver\shares) my filters never get hit, but when I p[put in the unc path it works as expected. Is this by design?

If you set filter as O:\* - then it will hit when you access network share through the O: drive. When you set filter as \\fileserver\shares\* then it will hit only when you access network share through the UNC path.

That's not how it is working. Using FileMon I set a filter of O:\*.* which is mapped to a remote share. I then open an explorer window to O:\. None of the activity in that explorer window is reported.

I delete the old filter and set a new filter of \\servername\share\*.* and then go back to the explorer window, still open to O:\, and now all of the activity is being reported.

Could you specify your operation system version and CallbackFilter version ?

The described behavior is valid for the operation systems prior Windows Vista. In Vista and later only UNC filter mask will work correctly. We will add filtering using drive letter filter path in our next release.

Could you make a small test. Run CBFilter sample and add any rules specifying both type of filter mask. Then post the results from filter list box.

O:\*.* creates \Device\WinDfs\O:000000000014ec53\*.*
\\servername\*.* creates \Device\LanmanRedirector\servername\*.*

This is a problem with DFS shares located on a machine running Windows Server operation system. We are working on it.

Does this work now? I am running into a problem where: AddFilterCallbackRule(...) fails for mapped drives (x:\* -- x: is a mapped drive).
