On Windows Vista if from command line I do:

xcopy file.exe c:\windows

the system will return: Access denied

With OnOpenFileC I can watch the creation request. I can not use OnCreateFileN because it will not be rised.

How do I watch the creation request failed? What is the event I should include to see the creation of file.exe in c:\windows failed?

Thanks for your support!

OnOpenFileC works in pre-create path (it is called before processing by the file system driver), OnCreateFileN and OnPostCreateFileC works in post-create path (when request is already processed by the FS). Callback Filter is designed to interrupt all requests in pre-op path or interrupt completed post-op requests (in order to modify, deny or monitor FS requests). But post-op requests are processed only when they are completed with success by the lower FS driver.

So is not possible to monitorize when a file operation request fails?

I guess I must go to "wishlist" page and fill a request to get this feature implemented, right?

I copy&paste here the entry I submitted to "Wish List" page, so if you have any question I can solve it.

I would like you include the implementation to watch failed file/folder operations, like:

SetAttr, GetAttr, Open, Rename, RenameDir, Replace, Create, Delete, CreateDir, DeleteDir.
