I made a few changes to the FileMon sample app so it would catch fewer events, and display the username of the user performing the events (attached).

I started monitoring C:\ and left it running in the background, so I could get a rough idea of how it affected system performance.

After a few minutes had passed, without warning my (normally rock-solid) XP machine rebooted. It wouldn't come back up until I rebooted into safe mode and uninstalled the CallbackFilter driver.

I used the latest version, downloaded just a few days ago.
