Not supporting file security

I do not want to implement security in my filesystem (which is reported as FAT32) and so do not handle the CbFsSetFileSecurityEvent and CbFsGetFileSecurityEvent events as specified in the documentation but when I try to install an application onto my filesystem I get an error stating that the installer could not update file security. I have tried handling the events and throwing ERROR_NOTIMPLMENTED and ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED exceptions but I still get the same error. Is there a way to cleanly not support security and allow applications to be installed onto the filesystem?

The OnSetFileSecurity and OnGetFileSecurity events are optional. You should not to attach event handlers if you don't plan to handle the events and get/set file security.

As I mentioned, I have tried not handling the events but I still get an error when installing software that the installer could not update file security.

Please specify what CallbackFS API (.NET 1.1, .NET 2.0, VCL, C++) are you using? Also specify Windows version (including does it 32 or 64-bit). And what the program are you installing?

We are using CallbackFS for .NET 1.1 on Windows XP SP2 32-bit. The application we are trying to install is Photoshop CS2.

This can be .NET 1.1 specific problem. I will ask the developer to look into it.

This is not 1.1 specific problem. It might be not a problem at all. Do other installers report the same issue?

Sincerely yours

We have obtained an error too. Please wait until we found where the problem is.
