Disconnected Network Drive

We have a few customers reporting that after mounting a new CBFS network drive it is shown 'Disconnected Network Drive' with a red cross in Windows Explorer. Regardless of this state the drive is browsable as usual.

Can you elaborate what can cause Windows Explorer to show the drive in such a state?

Most probable reason is that the mount notifier DLL isn't installed (or failed to load) on the customer machine. Please check that your CBFS Install method is called with the CBFS_MODULE_MOUNT_NOTIFIER_DLL flag and let the customer reboot the machine if the installation requires it.
