Is it possible to wrap the CBFS driver?

my company developed a C# based synchronization client, using CBFS to show remote content in Explorer. Currently we install on customer machines, but we were wondering whether it was possible to wrap the application and CBFS driver and make a portable version.

I know that some applications can be successfully wrapped with VMWare ThinApp or Cameyo.

Would you know whether this is possible or if there are easy alternatives, such as installing the driver at runtime and uninstall on close (though we would rather manage without Administrator privileges).

Thanks in advance,
Paolo Manili

While installing on startup and uninstalling on shutdown is an option to have a portable application, this wouldn't work if the user doesn't have Administrator privileges. There's no workaround available as such behavior is a security measure and not a restriction of any kind.

Yes we understand, and as the administrator privileges are too steep a requirement we will consider an alternative solution for the portable version.

thank you very much for the quick reply.
Best regards,

PS. For future readers, ThinApp and Cameyo packaging both failed as they can't wrap kernel mode drivers. (as expected)
