We are having intermittent issues when trying to uninstall the CBFS 4 drivers via the DLL functions you recommend we call from Advanced Installer. We get the error listed above. A reboot doesn't cure the problem nor does stopping or deleting the driver from the command line using the 'sc' command. The only way we have been able to cure the problem is to manually edit certain fields in the registry (I don't know the exact ones).

The problem doesn't seem to happen very often and it seems to be more likely to occur in a virtual machine than a physical machine, but it happens to any machine. I know it happens on Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines. Not sure about XP.

Is this ringing any bells? Anyone else seen this problem?

Is it possible to reproduce the problem for ourselves? Maybe you can give us a VMware image where the problem is present.

I have been able to finally get a VM that shows the problem. How can I upload it to you? It's clearly larger than your 256KB limit.
