tells me that
The method must be called when the media is mounted.

If I do so, I get an exception saying
Storage is Active

I find I need to call it after Initialize and before CreateStorage.

I therefore think the online help at the URL above needs revising.

In version 4 that depends on drive type.

In version 5 the filesystem name can be set only before the media is mounted, and the help file reflects this. The help on the site is for version 4.

FWIW, Andy's pointer was helpful to me. I got the same error, and after seeing the note in help, moved the call to before MountMedia, but still got the error. After following Andy's tip, I moved to call up to after Initialize(), and then it worked. It would be nice if the help calls this out, so others won't have to experiment like us.

Thank you for pointing us out on this. We will correct it so it will be possible to call SetFileSystemName after the CreateStorage call (but always before the MountMedia call).
