Hello, Windows 8.1 is right around the corner and I want to make sure my application provides full support for it.

Are there any breaking changes in Windows 8.1 that would cause problems in CBFS 4? If so, is the current beta of CBFS 5 in a stable state to include in an update?

There were a couple of mostly cosmetic issues, caused by changes in Windows 8.1, and those issues have been fixed in CBFS 5.

The major benefit of CBFS 5 is not a workaround for Windows 8.1 issues but significantly improved cache, that speeds up operations, and several features that you requested. As for being stable - it has not undergone extensive testing yet. You can release some experimental version with it to test new features.

Sincerely yours

Did any of those issues have to do with creating 2 identical mount points when mounting a drive? We have that issue whenever we run a new install on Windows 8.1. It looks like an alias is created by Windows, with 2 drive letters pointing to the same volume. Since both of the drives appear to be correctly mounted and working, I could chalk it up as a "cosmetic issue." I'm curious if anyone else is seeing this.

Is the problem reproducible with the Mapper sample?

Sorry, I forgot, but such problem existed in the earlier CBFS5 versions. Take the latest one, it should be already fixed there.
