we are currently porting to windows 8 and are curious about how the "pause" feature of windows 8 explorer is working with cbfs?

Do we get some sort of special event? Or is the file just closed and on resume it be opened again and write will appended the missing blocks to the end of the file?
Is this blockwise oder is this filewise?

Anybody implemented that?

Greetings and thanks,

Hello Bastian,

Please clarify what does it mean the "pause" feature?

If you copy files on Windows 8 using the explorer, there is a small button allowing you to pause and resume the copy process.
That is what i meant.

It's actually not "Windows 8" but Explorer, a regular user-mode application. We can only guess how it works, though I suspect that it's simply a literally pause in the copying, i.e. the copying loop is paused and that's all.

If you have any particular issues with this new functionality, please describe them in more details.

Sincerely yours
Eugene Mayevski
